how to cancel a order on etsy
Hi, I'm a new seller on Etsy and I need some help with order cancellations. I received an order from a customer and after I confirmed the order and was ready to ship, the customer contacted me and asked me to cancel the order. They said they changed their mind and found another necklace they liked better. I don't know how to cancel the order and refund the customer. Can anyone tell me how to cancel an order on Etsy? What steps do I need to follow and what are the consequences of cancelling an order? Thank you for your help.

You can do this by clicking the "Contact Shop" button on the order page. You will then need to go to the Store Manager and select "Orders and Shipping". Find the order you want to cancel and click the three-dot icon on the right. Select Cancellation from the drop down menu. You will be asked to select the reason for the cancellation and write a message to the customer. You can explain the reason for cancelling the order and apologise for any inconvenience caused. After cancelling the order, the customer will receive a full refund and the transaction will be removed from your shop statistics. This means that it will not affect your shop ratings or reviews.
