how to cancel etsy order
Hi everyone, I'm a new seller on Etsy and I'm having trouble understanding how to cancel an order. I've read the help center article, but I'm still not sure what to do. Here are the steps I've taken so far: I logged in to my Etsy account. I went to the "Orders & Shipping" page. I clicked on the "Cancel order" button next to the order I want to cancel. However, when I click on the "Cancel order" button, I get a message that says "The order cannot be canceled because it is already in the shipping process." I'm not sure what this means. Does it mean that I can't cancel the order at all? Or does it mean that I can only cancel the order if I contact the buyer first? Can anyone help me understand this?

Answer LinkHi there, I understand your confusion. The message you're getting means that the order has already been shipped. Once an order has been shipped, it can no longer be canceled. However, you can still contact the buyer and ask them to return the item. If the buyer agrees to return the item, you can then issue a refund. To contact the buyer, you can use the "Message buyer" button on the order page. In your message, explain that the order has been shipped and that you would like the buyer to return the item. You can also offer to cover the cost of return shipping. Once the buyer returns the item, you can then issue a refund. To do this, go to the "Orders & Shipping" page and click on the "Issue a refund" button next to the order. Here are the steps on how to issue a refund: Click on the "Issue a refund" button next to the order. Select the reason for the refund from the dropdown menu. Enter the amount of the refund. Click on the "Issue refund" button. Etsy will automatically send the buyer a message informing them of the refund.

Answer LinkHi, I'm also a new seller on Etsy and I recently had to cancel an order. I was able to do it by contacting Etsy customer support. I went to the Etsy help center and clicked on the "Contact us" link. I then filled out the form and explained that I needed to cancel an order. Etsy customer support responded to my request within a few hours. They were able to cancel the order for me and issue a refund to the buyer. If you'd rather not contact Etsy customer support, you can also try contacting the buyer directly. Explain that you need to cancel the order and ask if they would be willing to accept a refund. If the buyer agrees to accept a refund, you can then issue a refund through Etsy.

If the order is still in the "Processing" or "Unshipped" status, I can cancel it myself through Etsy. To do this, I go to the "Orders & Shipping" page and click on the "Cancel order" button next to the order. I then select the reason for the cancellation and click on the "Cancel" button. If the order is already in the "Shipped" status, I can't cancel it myself. In this case, I need to contact the buyer and ask them to return the item. Once the buyer returns the item, I can then issue a refund. Here are the steps on how to issue a refund: Go to the "Orders & Shipping" page. Click on the "Issue a refund" button next to the order. Select the reason for the refund from the dropdown menu. Enter the amount of the refund. Click on the "Issue refund" button.
